Inspire week confirmed for 2018
LLS’ Coaches Conference has been an annual feature in the academic calendar for our sixth form sports students for many years, but we’re taking it on to the next level in 2018.
For some time students have descended upon Liverpool Hope University from across the North West, Yorkshire, North Wales and Northern Ireland to hear the inspiring stories of roles models such as performance psychologist – Tom Bates, professional football coach – Michael Beale and Tony Carr MBE to name a few.
A practical element was introduced to this year’s conference with students opting to take part in a free running session lead by the innovative Airborn Academy or taking advantage of the opportunity to watch former Everton Football Club coach Tosh Farrell deliver a session for a local Under 9’s football team .
The change of format this year enabled students to interact with our guests, ask questions and exchange contact details so they could connect in the future.
New for 2018
As we prepare to welcome our newest intake of sports leaders onto LLS’ Your Future sixth form programme in September from the aforementioned areas, we’ll also be launching courses in places such as Bolton in England, Lurgan in Northern Ireland and Doha in Qatar. With this in mind we’ll be reinventing our annual coaches conference and introducing ‘Inspire Week’ in its place.
During Inspire Week a wide variety of sports industry professionals from around the globe will visit LLS’ partner schools across England, Ireland, Wales and Qatar where students will enjoy interactive workshops, ask questions, gain some top tips and of course take part in practical activities.
Prior to guests being announced in the coming months LLS’ Student Engagement Team will continue to accept applications for the final few places remaining on the Your Future programme. If you’re in Year 11 and passionate about working in the sports industry, we advise you to email your contact number, location and current school to firstname.lastname@example.org
