The LLS Sixth Form sports course currently has 27 locations across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland with over 750+ students enrolled.

We spoke to current students as well as LLS graduates to find out about their thoughts on some of our tutors at LLS.

Logan, who graduated last summer, said that Matthew Whiteley stuck out in his mind as one of his favourite tutors. In Logan’s words, “Matt was so helpful with everything, he knew exactly what he was talking about. If we were struggling, we could always go to him for help.”

Making sure our students feel comfortable enough with their tutors to ask them for help is an essential part of helping them become a great coach. Matt Whiteley is a great example of this. “He was always giving us tips on how to deal with our players, he showed us how a good professional coach is supposed to act,” said Logan.

Harvey Smith also thought Matt was an excellent tutor, saying that, “He was my tutor in the first year, and we just got on really well.”

Creating a culture of support and fostering confidence in our students is integral in ensuring they reach their full potential. This comes along with passing on constructive criticism like Harvey describes how, “Matt always found something wrong with my coaching, which I liked.”

Recent graduate Ellis Longworth highlighted Jordan Hadaway and Mark Ward as first class tutors. Ellis told us that, “While I’ve been working in Qatar, they’ve been checking in with me and making sure I’m doing well.” Thinking back on his time at LLS, Ellis recalled that all his classmates did especially well under their guidance. “They’re both just really, really good.”

Daniel identified Steve Beddard as someone who helped him throughout his time with LLS. “Steve was absolutely spot on. He was a great teacher but he was a mate to all of us as well.”

Tutor Nadine Beck was also mentioned by some of our graduates Harri Knight and Lilijhana Jones. Harri said that “Nadine was my favourite tutor. She helped me so much throughout my time at LLS, and was never afraid to give us feedback.” Lilijhana noted how Nadine assisted her by providing additional support and communicating information in a way that Lilijhana could understand it more easily.

Lilijhana said that, “Nadine found an easier way to break information down to me, and I was able to understand a lot quicker than before.”

The LLS sixth form course relies completely on the tutors developing a connection with our students. Their role in the success of our graduates can’t be understated, that’s why it’s so important to highlight the role that they play in lifting LLS pupils to the peak of their abilities.
