THE LLS QUALIFICATION

Over the course of two academic years, students will earn the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, Coaching, and Fitness. This is a full-time programme meaning you will have around 15 hours of lessons split between theory and practical, the rest of your week will be self-studying and gaining work experience.

The qualification carries up to 168 UCAS points, which is the equivalent to studying 3 A-Levels and is 100% coursework based. Perfect for those who prefer to learn without the pressure of exams.

HOW YOU WILL LEARN

Everyone learns in different ways. It’s why we have created a unique learning model, so every student can learn in a variety of ways and achieve the highest grade possible. There are three main ways in which you will learn:

Classroom learning is an essential part of the LLS course. Your tutor will deliver engaging, collaborative lessons that challenge students thinking and prepare them for upcoming coursework.

This is where you will develop your coaching skills, gain a greater understanding of sports science learn of a wide range of sports. You may have a knowledge for one or two sports but you will leave leave with knowledge of 10 additional sports. 

Work Experience is at the centre of the LLS course, you can expect to gain over 500 hours of it on average during the course in your local community and further afield, even venturing abroad with your classmates to put your coaching skills to the test.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grades 4 to 9 are required to join the LLS course. You will also ideally have a Grade 4 or above in GCSE PE or a Pass in BTEC Sport but this is not essential. Our team are always happy to help if you have any questions regarding the entry requirements.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your sporting ability will not impact your place with LLS. Instead, we will assess your suitability based on your grades, your commitment to LLS events, and comments from your teachers where necessary.

The LLS programme is multi-sports, and students will experience a minimum of 12 different sports during their two years with us. When being assessed practically, students can choose which sports that they are assessed in.

The LLS programme is a full-time option, but some of our study centres do allow students to take an additional A Level alongside our course. Please speak to your local LLS team for more information.

LLS’ main objective is to support the education, and career prospects of our students.

Although, we have had several talented athletes join our programme, and our teams have supported them in their efforts through scholarship application support, flexible timetables to allow for training camps, media training, and much more.

All students will wear fully branded Adidas uniform while representing LLS. This is the expectation for lessons and work experience.
