Why Should You Join LLS?
The LLS sixth form course offers students with more than just a qualification. Our approach prioritises instilling a new sense of independence, while also providing the guidance they need to grow and mature. By graduation, LLS students amass 1000+ hours of coaching experience. This gives them the confidence they need to take advantage of the opportunities available to them, as LLS students.
We spoke to Logan, an LLS Graduate who’s spent the past few summers coaching abroad. Before joining LLS, Logan never imagined he’d be by himself, on a flight to Colorado to spend the next 3 months working as a basketball coach. Now, those trips are some of his favourite memories.
Graduating From LLS to Coaching Abroad
At 16, Logan found himself with loads of options in front of him and no idea what he wanted to do. He’d always played sports, and had some coaching experience throughout his teen years, so he thought LLS sounded right for him. Looking back now, he told us that joining LLS was the moment that he first felt independence.
“Because I was making my way to college for the first time, making sure I’m on time and everything. That’s what helped with working abroad, where you’re on your own for three to four months at a time.”
“LLS gives you a chance to gain that individuality.”
Giving students like Logan the belief in their own abilities means they can go out and achieve new things. He’s clever, and a great coach by any standard. But good coaches are still intimidated by the thought of going alone to a place you’ve never been. That’s why our course builds confidence alongside coaching skills. When asked about the opportunities he got with LLS, Logan replied,
“Obviously, the ability to go work abroad, and things like that. That was amazing.”
“I don’t think there was any other way I was going to be able to do that without LLS.”
“I feel like using the skills that I’ve learned from LLS, from meeting new people and everything, I can go out and do pretty much whatever I want.”

Real Opportunities for LLS Students
Each year, our Global Coaching Conference (GCC) connects our students with sports organisations that provide opportunities for paid employment in over 10 different countries. The two-day event also features expos and industry talks, giving LLS students the chance to network with professionals and explore career pathways in sport.
These opportunities are available to every LLS student. That’s why we focus on developing their self-belief, as well as their skills.
LLS graduates understand what they’re capable of. They know they can spend 3 months coaching abroad because they’ve spent the last 2 years building their abilities as a coach as well as their confidence.
If you feel like you’ll never have the confidence to work abroad in the USA, Canada or anywhere else, you’re not alone. Logan’s advice for anyone who’s unsure is:
“If you’re in your comfort zone, you’re never going to do anything. Push yourself.”
“LLS helped me to grow up and mature. So, if you’re anxious about something, just do it anyway.”
