This month marks an exciting new chapter for LLS rugby ambassador Kruise Leeming, who has made the move from Wigan Warriors to Catalans Dragons in the South of France on loan. The experienced rugby league hooker is taking his talents overseas, embracing a fresh challenge both on and off the field, and showing first-hand what it means to step outside of your comfort zone.
Kruise has been a special and valued part of the LLS community for some time. During his journey with us, he has gone above and beyond in supporting our students. From delivery engaging coaching sessions with our rugby students to visiting multiple LLS locations and speaking openly about his professional career, Kruise has consistently shared his honest insights, motivation, and meaningful life advice.
Students have been particularly inspired by Kruise’s willingness to talk about the realities of elite sport — the hard work, setbacks, discipline, and resilience required to succeed. His visits have offered learners a real-world perspective on what it takes to pursue a career in sport, while also reinforcing the importance of strong values, mindset, and personal growth.
One standout moment was Kruise attending last year’s GCC, where he immersed himself in the experience to truly understand what our students take part in. His presence demonstrated genuine interest, humility, and a desire to connect with the LLS community at every level.
In a fantastic show of support for the next generation of talent, Wigan Warriors star Kruise Leeming generously provided two of our current Rugby Programme students with tickets to watch him play in the thrilling 2025 Super League Semi-Final. The experience was made even more special when Kruise took time after the match to chat, take pictures, and inspire the students.

Saying yes to opportunities
At LLS, one of our core aims is to encourage students to say yes to opportunities, challenge themselves, and step beyond their comfort zones.
This is a message Kruise has spoken passionately about during his time with us — and his move to Catalans Dragons perfectly reflects that mindset. Relocating to a new country, adapting to a new team and culture, and continuing to perform at the highest level takes courage, confidence, and belief.
Kruise is a fantastic ambassador for LLS. He represents many of the values and behaviours we strive to instil in our students, including commitment, resilience, respect, and ambition. His journey continues to inspire young people to back themselves, embrace change, and pursue their goals with confidence.
